A 16 cm-tall basin mixer in polished chrome — the taller-than-standard size sized for above-counter feature basins where the bowl sits proud of the bench top and a standard 12 cm mixer doesn't clear the basin rim.
When 16 cm Is the Right Height
Residential bathroom basins fall into two installation categories:
- Inset basins sit flush or just below the vanity top — a 12 cm mixer clears the rim with room to spare
- Above-counter (vessel) basins sit on top of the vanity, with the bowl rim 8–12 cm above the bench surface
For an above-counter basin, a standard 12 cm tap is too short to deliver water cleanly over the rim — water hits the rim, splashes, and the tap looks visually undersized next to the proud bowl. A 16 cm tap is what suits above-counter installs, both functionally (clears the rim) and visually (height proportionate to the bowl).
