A 12V DC UV water steriliser built specifically for off-grid installations — solar systems, caravans, boats, camping trailers, and any setup where you can't or don't want to run mains 240V to the filtration. Drops the same UV pathogen kill as a mains-powered unit while running directly off a 12V battery bank or solar regulator.
Why 12VDC Matters for Off-Grid Builds
Most UV sterilisers run on 240V mains AC and assume you have it. For caravan and boat installations, that means adding an inverter to the system just for the UV chamber — extra cost, extra power loss, extra failure point. A native 12VDC unit eliminates the inverter and draws straight off the house battery or solar regulator.
At 6W, the unit draws around 0.5A at 12V — light enough load that it can run continuously without taxing a solar setup, but with enough UV output to handle drinking water flow rates.

Where This Fits in the Range
For mains-powered installations, use the 6W 220V version instead — same UV chamber, same flow rate, mains AC plug. For higher flow demand, step up to the 11W mains UV or 25W 1500 LPH chamber.
Maintenance for Mobile Installations
- Replace the UV lamp every 12 months even if it's still glowing — UV-C output drops below germicidal levels before visible lamp failure
- Keep upstream pre-filters fresh: turbidity in tank or rainwater blocks UV penetration and reduces pathogen kill
- After long off-grid stretches with stagnant water in the system, flush the chamber before relying on the UV output
