The entry-priced 6W mains-powered UV steriliser in the range — 220V AC, the same chamber and Philips lamp as the 12VDC version but with a standard Australian mains plug rather than the low-voltage DC adapter. The difference between 6W and 11W is primarily UV dose at the rated flow rate. At 0.5–1 GPM through this chamber, the 6W lamp produces enough UV-C energy at 254 nm germicidal wavelength to inactivate bacteria, viruses, and protozoan cysts in well-pre-filtered feed water. For turbid or heavily-contaminated supplies, step up to a higher-wattage unit.

Critical: UV Maintenance Discipline
Replace the UV lamp every 12 months even if it's still glowing — UV-C output drops below germicidal levels well before the lamp visibly fails. Keep upstream pre-filters fresh. Sediment and turbidity block UV penetration and reduce pathogen kill regardless of lamp condition, so a fresh PP sediment cartridge ahead of the UV chamber is non-negotiable.
